ELECTION DAY ABSENTEE MEETING
NOVEMER 8, 2022
5:00 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairwoman Allison Fenderson, Secretary Lin Coker, Members: Betsy
McCormick, James Currin and Lewis Bell
Also Present were; Director Claire Jones, Deputy Director Shannon Cole, Election Specialist
Seth Lemon and County Staff Attorney Chris Appel.

Ms. Fenderson called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm with a moment of silence and Pledge of
Allegiance.

Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from November 7, 2022. Mr. Coker moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Bell seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones presented to the Board an election update with voter numbers. As of 4:00pm, 10,472
people have voted at the Election Day sites. Mrs. Jones informed the Board about complaints
received concerned lines and signs at Anderson Creek as well as bathroom access for
Electioneers at voting sites.
The Board reviewed the Sheriff Intimidation complaint. Mrs. Longman submitted additional
pictures and information.
The Board opened the DS200s for all one -stop sites and absentee by mail. After verifying the
beginning count on each machine, the DS200s were closed and the results were printed. All
Board members signed the tapes and verified the absentee abstracts. The Board subtracted the
two pulled ballots from the One -Stop site tapes. Results will be release at 7:30pm.
Mrs. Jones reminded the Board of the following dates:
• Sample Hand -Eye count November 10 at 9:00am
• Absentee/Provisional meeting November 17 at 5:00pm
• Canvas November 18 at 11:00am
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Currin moved to adjourn. Mr. Coker seconded. The
meeting adjourned at 6:57 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be a provisional/absentee meeting on November 17, 2022 at
5:00 pm.
