REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 6, 2022
5:30 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairwoman Allison Fenderson, Secretary Lin Coker, Members: James
Currin and Lewis Bell
Also Present was; Director Claire Jones
Also present: See sign in sheet
Ms. Fenderson called the meeting to order at 5:32 pm with a moment of silence and Pledge of
Allegiance.
Public Comment:

Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from August 2, 2022. Mr. Coker moved to approve the minutes.
Mr. Bell seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones updated the Board of the Following topics
• Elections Specialist
o Candidate accepted conditional offer
o Should start September 19 if references and background clears
• Logic and Accuracy Testing
o Received Sample ballots but no coding yet
o Will schedule as soon as possible
• Feasibility/ Space needs Study
o No word on stakeholder meeting
o Dewberry has toured office
• Advertising and Outreach
o Purchasing signs for early voting locations with voting dates
o Town festivals
o Radio Station

■ Triton
The Board reviewed the election calendar and after some discussion, Mr. Currin moved to merge
the October 01 Regular and Absentee meeting and begin at 5:00pm. Mr. Bell seconded.
Approved without dissent.
The Board discussed Mrs. Jones meeting with the Harnett County Sheriff to discuss security at
election sites and mutual aid with local towns in order to keep deputy out of voting sites. Mr.
Bell moved to have Mrs. Jones reach out to the Sheriff. Mr. Coker seconded. Approved without
dissent.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Coker moved to adjourn. Mr. Curtin seconded. The
meeting adjourned at 6:10 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be a regular and absentee meeting on October 4, 2022 at 5:00
