REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
December 13, 2005
3:00 p.m.
Present were William Randall, Chairman and Secretary Roy Tew. Member
Walter Massey, was unable to attend.
Also present was Jerry Beasley.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
Minutes:
Mr. Tew moved to approve the minutes of November 15, 2005. Mr. Randall
seconded. Approved without dissent.
Old Business:
Ms. Toler advised the board that the Department of Justice approved the polling
place and precinct changes and that the notices to the voters would be mailed at the
beginning of January.
New Business:
Ms. Toler advised that ES&S would be giving their voting equipment
demonstration on January 5, 2006 from 6-8 pm. Ms. Toler also advised that Diebold had
not yet arranged a time.
The Board conducted a preliminary hearing on challenges from Mr. Beasley
regarding residency in the Town of Coats. Ms. Toler swore in Mr. Beasley. He indicated
that the Dixon property was located outside the city limits of Coats and presented maps
that showed the house being outside the city limits.
Mr. Tew moved that probable cause exists to have a hearing on the matter. Mr.
Randall seconded. Approved without dissent.
The next meeting of the board will be the equipment demonstration on January 5,
2006.
Mr. Tew moved to adjourn. Mr. Randall seconded. The meeting was adjourned
at 4:00 p.m.
