SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 19, 2022
5:30 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairwoman Allison Fenderson, Secretary Lin Coker, Members: Betsy
McCormick, James Currin and Lewis Bell
Also Present were; Director Claire Jones and Election Technician Jessica Higginbotham
Also present: See sign in sheet
Ms. Fenderson called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from January 4, 2022. After some discussion, Mr. Bell moved
to add the name, address and phone number of public to future minutes. Mr. Currin seconded.
Approved without dissent. Mr. Bell then moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Coker seconded.
Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones submitted to the Board the job descriptions for Elections Director, Deputy Director,
Elections Technician and Elections Specialist created by Ms. Fenderson and Mrs. Jones. After
some discussion, Mr. Currin moved to approve the job descriptions. Mr. Bell seconded.
Approved without dissent.
The Board discussed the delegation of duties for the Elections Director position. In reviewing the
document, it was found that the cited statutes were incorrect. Mr. Currin moved postpone the
topic until the statutes could be corrected. Ms. Fenderson seconded. Approved without dissent.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Currin moved to adjourn. Mrs. McCormick seconded.
The meeting adjourned at 6:07 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be a regular meeting on February 1, 2022 at 5:30 pm.
