REGULAR MEETING
DULY 20, 2021
12:00 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairman Allison Fenderson, Secretary Lin Coker, Members: James Currin
and Lewis Bell
Also Present were; Director Claire Jones, Deputy Claudette Williams, Clerk of Court Renee
Whittenton

Mrs. Jones called the meeting to order at 12:00pm.
Business:
Per NCGS 163-30, The Board's first priority was to take the oath of office and organize. Mrs.
Fenderson was appointed Chairman by Governor Cooper. Mr. Currin moved to nominate Mr.
Coker as Secretary. Mrs. Fenderson seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board reviewed the regular meeting date and after some discussion the Board decided to
table the decision until the next meeting when Mrs. McCormick could be present. The Board
also agreed to table the approval of minutes and the One -Stop voting plan for municipals until
the August meeting.
Mrs. Jones submitted to the Board the list of Director Job duties to review, attached hereto. Mr.
Coker moved to approve the list. Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent.
Mrs. Jones reported to the Board:
• 2021-2022 Approved Budget
• New Voting Equipment
o DS200 and Express Vote
• Municipal Elections
o Erwin delayed until March 2022
o Angier, Coats and Lillington- November 2, 2021
• Election Calendar
• SBOE Conferences
o August 2-4, 2021
o Tentatively January 30- February 2, 2022
o Tentatively July 31- August 2, 2022
• Office Space/Needs
With no further business to discuss, Mrs. Fenderson moved to adjourn. Mr. Bell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 12:43 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be a Judge Appointment/Regular meeting on August 17,
2021 at 5:00 pm.
