REGULAR MEETING
JULY 2, 2019
4:00 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairman Tony Spears, Members: Steve Blackburn, Betsy McCormick and
Lin Coker
Also Present were; Director Claire Jones and Deputy Director Claudette Williams
Mr. Spears called the meeting to order at 4:00pm with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from June 4, 2019. Mr. Blackburn moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Coker seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones submitted to the Board aerial photos of each precinct with the 50ft buffer zone and
curbside buffer zone marked. The Board reviewed each precinct and suggested location changes
for curbside voting, attempting to keep them in or as close to the 50 ft. buffer zone as possible.
Mrs. Jones confirmed the changes would be made and posted online for the public, candidates
and electioneers.
Mrs. Jones also reported to the Board
• Precinct project
o Received from SBOE July 2, 2019
o No noticeable changes
• Advertising for Voter ID Seminars
• Future discussion needed for 2020 one -stop voting locations
• SBOE Conference July 29-30
o No overnight
o Mileage will be reimbursed
• Jeni taking certification exam July 31
With no further business to discuss, Mrs. McCormick moved to adjourn. Mr. Coker seconded.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:03 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be a regular meeting on August 20, 2019 at 4:00 pm.
