PRE -ELECTION AND ABSENTEE MEETING
OCTOBER 9, 2017
5:00 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairman James Currin, Board Secretary Tony Spears, Board Member
Joseph Powell and Director Claire Jones
Also present were; Jean Sivoli, Democratic Chair and Steve Blackburn
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from October 3, 2017. Mr. Spears moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
There were no additional absentee ballots to approve
Mrs. Jones stated again that the absentee results will have to be merged into the Election Day
results to protect voter privacy.
Mrs. Jones requested to go into closed session to discuss a personnel issue.
Mr. Powell moved to go into closed session. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board entered executive session at 5:07pm.
Mr. Spears moved to return to open session. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board returned to open session at 5:13pm. There was no action as a result of closed session.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 5:15 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be the Election Day Absentee meeting on October 10, 2017
at 5:00 pm.
