CANVASS MEETING
�. OCTOBER 16, 2017
11:00 A.M.
Present were; Board Chairman James Currin, Board Secretary Tony Spears, Board Member
Joseph Powell and Director Claire Jones
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 11:05 am.
Business:
Mrs, Jones reported that the Election Day audits were completed and balanced. Voter history
matched One -Stop (1), Election Day (141) and Provisional (1) with 143 total votes. The only
issue was the precinct did not tally the write-in votes on Election night. Mrs. Jones had a
bipartisan team complete this task after the Hand/Eye count was complete. Michael Jackson
received 34 votes and those will be reported on the Canvass reports.
The random hand/eye count was performed on October 12, at 8:30 am. The machine count
matched the hand count exactly with one exception. One ballot had a light checkmark in the oval
that was too light for the machine to read.
The Board reviewed the Canvass reports. After some discussion Mr. Powell moved to approve
Canvass. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 11:30 am.
The next meeting of the Board will be the November Absentee meeting on October 17, 2017 at
5:00 pm.
