REGULAR MEETING
DECEMBER 12, 2017
4:00 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairman James Currin, Board Secretary Tony Spears, Board Member
Joseph Powell and Director Claire Jones
Also present was; Steve Blackburn
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from November 17, 2017 Absentee/Provisional Meeting,
November 17, 2017 Canvass Meeting and November 21, 2017 Preliminary Consideration
Meeting. Mr. Powell moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without
dissent.
Business:
The Board received copies of the Election protest appeal filed at the Wake County Courthouse.
Mrs. Jones informed the Board that she met with the County Board of Commissioners during a
work session at the request of Paula Stewart. Mrs. Jones discussed the 2017 Municipal elections,
Pending legislation and planning for 2018. The Commissioners praised the hard work of the
office and expressed their appreciation for what we do.
Mrs. Jones also informed the Board that the County office will be closed December 25-27, 2017.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:13 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be the regular meeting on January 2, 2018 at 4:00 pm.
