REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 4, 2017
4:00 P.M.
Present were; Board Chairman James Currin, Board Secretary Tony Spears, Board Member
Joseph Powell and Director Claire Jones
Also present were; Democratic Chair Jean Sivoli, Steve Blackburn and Lewis Bell
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from March 7, 2017. Mr. Powell moved to approve the minutes.
Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
The Board heard several informational items from Mrs. Jones. No motions were required but
discussed were:
0 2017-2018 Budget submitted to County Manager
o Mrs. Jones met with County Engineer concerning space needs
o SL2016-109 redrawing precinct lines
o HB64 moving municipal elections to even years
o Possible legislation to move 2017 October election to September
o Ordering plaque for Pete McPherson, plaque will be presented at next meeting
o NCADE meeting in Wilmington April 9-11
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:22 pm.
The next meeting of the Board will be a regular meeting on May 2, 2017 at 4:00 pm.
