REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
MAY 3, 2016 4:00 P.M.
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Also present was Democratic Chair, Jean Sivoli
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from April 5, 2016. Mr. Spears moved to approve the minutes.
Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones introduced the new Administrative Support Specialist, Jeni Harris.
The Board discussed the One -Stop plan for June 7, 2016. Mrs. Jones recommended business
hours: 8:00am-5:00pm from May 26 to June 3 and 8:00am-1:00pm on June 4. The only location
will be the Harnett County Board of Elections Office. Mr. Powell moved to approve the plan.
Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
_ - Mrs. Jones submitted to the Board an updated meeting calendar for the June Election. Voter
Registration Deadline is May 13. The State Board Election Conference is August 8 and 9 in
Charlotte.
Poll Worker training will be May 17 and 18. The Board discussed the uniform polling place set
up model for all precincts and creating a new pay scale for the different Election Day positions.
Mrs. Jones stated she would draft a scale and submit it at a future meeting.
The Board discussed the One -stop Plan for the November election. The Plan is due July 29. Mrs.
Jones will draft a plan based on the discussion and present it at the next Board meeting.
With no other business to discuss, Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:40 pm.
The next Board meeting will be an absentee meeting on May 17, 2016 at 5:00 pm.
