RECOUNT CANVASS
DECEMBER 8, 2016
4:00 P.M.
Present were Chairman James Currin, Member Joseph Powell and Director Claire Jones
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Business:
The Board of Elections recounted the NC State Auditor's race on December 7t" and 8". All
recounts matched the totals reported at Canvass with the exception of One -Stop Lobby. One vote
was reported as an under vote but it was actually a light mark vote for Beth Wood. The mark was
too light for the original M 100 to read.
Mrs. Jones submitted the Recount Canvass reports to the Board.
After some discussion Mr. Powell moved to approve the Recount Canvass. Mr. Currin seconded.
Approved without dissent. Mr. Spears was unable to make this meeting but was present during
the recount and came to the office earlier to view and sign the Canvass Reports.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Currin seconded. The
meeting adjourned at 4:08 p.m.
