ABSENTEE MEETING
SEPTEMBER 29, 2015
5:00 PM
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 5:04 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from September 22, 2015. Mr. Powell moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
The Board reviewed the absentee list, attached hereto. Three absentee ballots have returned ok
and 21 One -stop ballots were cast and are to be approved. Mr. Spears moved to approve the
absentee list. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
Mrs. Jones brought to the attention of the Board the following items:
• HB 373, moving all 2016 Primary elections to March 15.
• Update of appeal concerning Candidate Challenge against Mark Cowboy Wilkins
o Appeal filed with Court of Appeals
o Motion made to expedite hearing
o Motion to expedite hearing denied by Court of Appeals
• One -Stop voting ends Saturday at 1:00pm
• Election Day Tuesday October 6
• November absentee ballots will be mailed as soon as possible
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 5:20 pm.
The next meeting will be an Absentee Board meeting on October 6, 2015 at 5:00 pm.
