REGULAR MEETING
SEPTEMBER 1, 2015
4:00 PM
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from August 18, 2015. Mr. Powell moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mr. Currin began the meeting by saying he appreciated the work of the Board, staff and Mrs.
Jackson, Harnett County Staff Attorney, in preparing for and hearing the Candidate Challenge
Hearing.
Mrs. Jones relayed to the Board various office business such as:
• Introducing Mr. Sean Duke to the Board. Mr. Duke is the new admin support specialist.
• Mrs. Williams will be out beginning September 15 for medical reasons. She will return in
November.
• A date for the Candidate Challenge appeal to the State Board has not been set yet.
• Poll -worker training will be September 22 and 29, from 6:00pm — 9:00pm at the
Lillington Community Building
• Absentee meeting dates
• Testing for October election with mock election on September 10
Mr. Currin asked for a printout list of all upcoming dates.
Mr. Powell stated he noticed an error on the election notice for the Town of Erwin printed in the
Daily Record. Mrs. Jones stated she would look into it and make sure the error was corrected.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:15 pm.
The next meeting will be an Absentee Board meeting on September 15, 2015 at 5:00 pm.
