ABSENTEE MEETING
OCTOBER 6, 2015
5:00 PM
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from September 29, 2015. Mr. Powell moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
The Board reviewed the absentee list, attached hereto. 28 One -stop ballots were cast and are to
be approved. Mr. Spears moved to approve the absentee list. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved
without dissent.
Mrs. Jones informed the Board that releasing the seven Absentee ballots by mail as a separate
precinct could potentially reveal how a person voted. After some discussion, Mr. Powell
motioned to combine the Absentee by mail ballot totals with the One -Stop ballot totals. Mr.
Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board added the seven absentee ballots to the 49 one -stop ballots. The Board closed the On -
stop machine and printed the tapes. The results will be released at 7:30.
Mrs. Jones gave the Board the precinct's voting numbers at the 4:00 count:
• East Averasboro- 236
• Erwin Duke- 75
• West Averasboro- 484
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 5:29 pm.
The next meeting will be an Absentee Board meeting on October 13, 2015 at 10:30 am followed
by Canvass at 11:00 am.
