HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
ABSENTEE MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 10, 2015
10:30 A.M.
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Also present were Deputy Director, Claudette Williams, Harnett County IT, Walt Temple, and
Daily Record reporter, Tom Woerner, Candidates; Lew Weatherspoon, R.H. Ellington and
Kelvin Gilbert, Democratic Chair Jean Sivoli and several members of the public.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 10:44am.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from November 3, 2015. Mr. Powell moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
The Board reviewed the list of absentee voters, attached hereto. The list is composed of one
civilian ballot, postmarked before Election Day and received by Friday, November 6. Mr.
Spears moved to approve the absentee list. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
To protect the secrecy of the ballot, Mr. Spears moved to combine the one absentee ballot with
the approved provisional ballots during Canvass. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without
dissent.
Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The absentee meeting was adjourned at
10:49am.
Canvass will begin after at 11:OOam.
