REGULAR MEETING
MAY 5, 2015
4:00 P.M.
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from April 7, 2015. Mr. Powell moved to approve the minutes.
Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones informed the Board that Joseph Jeffries was appointed as the new County Manager.
Mrs. Jones also reminded the Board that the State Political Party must have their names of
recommended Board members to the State Board of Elections by June 15. The new Board will
be appointed to their two year term on June 30. The July regular meeting will need to move from
the first Tuesday in July to July 21, the Third Tuesday per GS 163-30, so the Board Members
can be sworn into office.
Mr. Spears moved to go into closed session to discuss personnel related matters. Mr. Powell
,-1 seconded. Approved without dissent. The Board went into closed session at 4:09 pm.
The Board called Mrs. Jones into the closed session at 4:50 pm.
Mr. Powell moved to return to open session. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board returned to open session at 5:03 pm.
With no further business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to Adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 5:04 pm.
The next board meeting will be a regular meeting on June 2, 2015 at 4:00 pm.
