RECOUNT CANVASS MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 20, 2014
4:00 P.M.
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
.cones. Also present were Deputy Director, Claudette Williams and Harnett County IT, Walt
Temple.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Business:
The Board reviewed the abstract of recount for the Supreme Court Associate Justice (Beasley). A
recount was performed per instruction from the State Board. The recount was held on November
19, 2014. The recount resulted in a net gain of 2 votes for Mike Robinson. The reason for the
change was due to how the machines were able to read ballots marked with checkmarks. Mr.
Powell moved to approve the new Canvass report. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without
dissent.
The next meeting will be the regular Board meeting on December 2, 2014.
Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The canvass meeting was adjourned at
4:18 pm.
