REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 2, 2014
4:00 P.M.
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:.
The Board reviewed the minutes from November 14, 2014 10:30 absentee meeting. Mr. Powell
moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board reviewed the minutes from November 14, 2014 11:00 canvass meeting. Mr. Spears
moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board reviewed the minutes from November 20, 2014 recount canvass. Mr. Powell moved
to approve the minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones informed the Board that the office would begin running all absentee ballots by VTD,
voter tabulation district. The state mandated deadline to have it completed is January 2, 2015, but
Mrs. Jones stated she would have it completed before Christmas.
The Board discussed a few items they wanted addressed before the next election, such as
ordering more table top booths, giving precincts more outside signs and recruiting more poll
workers. Mr. Currin stated that the Chief Judges need to understand that they are in charge and
need to be confident in making decisions. .
The next board meeting will be a regular meeting on January 6, 2014 at 4:00 pm.
With no further business to discuss, Mr: Spears moved to Adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:30 pm.
