MEETING MINUTES
_ April 9, 2013
11:30 A.M.
Present were Chairman Walter Massey, Secretary James Currin and Interim Director Claire
Jones. Member Louise Taylor was present by teleconference.
Chairman Massey called the meeting to order at 11:37 a.m.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from 3/5/13 and 03/12/13. Ms. Taylor moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones updated the Board with how the budget meeting went with the Board of
Commissioners on April 1, 2013.
The Board reviewed the Resolution (attached hereto) to separate the Central Harnett precinct into
two precincts; Central Harnett Lillington and Central Harnett Neills Creek, and to move the
Boone Trail polling place to the new Boone Trail Elementary School Gym.
Mr. Currin moved to approve the resolution. Mrs. Taylor seconded. Approved without dissent.
Mr. Currin moved to go into closed session to discuss personnel issues. Mrs. Taylor seconded.
Approved without dissent.
Mr. Massey, Mr. Currin, Mrs. Taylor went into closed session at 11:50 a.m. until 12:06 p.m.
Mrs. Taylor moved to exit the closed session, Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent.
No action was taken as a result of closed session.
The next meeting of the Board will be the regular meeting, May 7, 2013 at 11:30 am, at the
Board of Elections Office.
Mrs. Taylor moved to adjourn. Mr. Curtin seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 12:10 p.m.

RESOLUTION REGARDING POLLING PLACE CHANGES AND
RENUMBERING OF PRECINCTS
WHEREAS, the Harnett County Board of Elections conducted public meetings on
February 21, 2013, February 26, 2013 and March 12, 2013, for the purpose of obtaining
public comment on proposed precinct changes; and,
WHEREAS, after reviewing possible changes and considering public comment, the
Harnett County Board of Elections at a duly advertised, public meeting on April 2, 2013,
approved the following changes to precinct names and/or precinct numbers and/or polling
place changes where applicable; and,
Precinct 23 — Boone Trail — The polling place is to be changed from the Old Boone
Trail School Gym to the New Boone Trail Elementary School Gym located at 1425
Adcock Rd, Lillington (Total Voters — 4604)
Precinct 31 — Central Harnett Lillington (formerly part of Central Harnett Precinct,
which is now being separated) with voting to be held at the Lillington Community
Bldg, 607 S. 13" St. Lillington, NC (Total Voters 5848) .
Precinct 32 — Central Harnett Neills Creek (formerly part of Central Harnett Precinct,
which is now being separated) with voting to be held at the John W. Pope Jr.
Convocation Center, 110 Main St. (Buies Creek) Lillington, NC (Total Voters 5848);
and,
WHEREAS, all polling locations are ADA compliant;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Harnett County Board of Elections,
that these changes shall be effective immediately upon approval by the United States
Department of Justice and the North Carolina State Board of Elections.
