SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
DUNN CITY HALL
February 16, 2011
7:00 P.M.
Present were Chairman Walter Massey, Secretary James Currin and Member Louise Taylor.
Also present was Claire Jones, Sr. Administrative Assistant and Sherre Toler, Director. Four
members of the public were also in attendance.
Chairman Massey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Business:
Ms. Toler explained the proposed polling place move from Dunn Middle School to Wayne
Avenue Elementary and presented pictures of the proposed polling location as well as a map.
Chairman Massey asked the public if they had any comments.
Abe Elmore indicated that he did not believe that Dunn Middle School is a good place and
agrees it should be moved. He also indicated that he doesn't know of any location other than
Wayne Avenue that would be better.
Billy Barfield, a part-time staff member and poll worker at West Averasboro, indicated that he
does not like the current location and hopes it is moved.
The next meeting of the Board will be its public hearing on February 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at
Angier Municipal Building. The next regular monthly meeting of the Board will be March 2,
2011 at 11:30 a.m.
Mr. Currin moved to adjourn. Ms. Taylor seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
