CANVASS MEETING MINUTES
October 13, 2009
11:00 a.m.
Present were Chairman Walter Massey, Secretary James Currin and Member Louise Taylor.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Chairman Massey called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes of October 6, 2009- Ms. Taylor moved to approve. Mr. Currin
seconded. Approved without dissent.
New Business:
Ms. Toler advised the Board that the sample hand -eye audit following the election showed
matching results with the machine.
Ms. Toler presented the Board with one valid provisional ballot. Ms. Taylor moved to approve.
Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent.
The provisional ballot was inserted into the machine. The results were inserted into the Unity
system and the canvass report was prepared. The Board reviewed the report and the election was
made official.
Mr. Currin thanked the Board for allowing his students to visit the polling place on election day.
An absentee meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. However, there are no ballots to consider. Ms.
Taylor moved to cancel the meeting. Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent.
The next meeting of the board will be an absentee meeting at 5:00 p.m. on October 20, 2009
followed by a poll worker training session from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Common's Area.
Ms. Taylor moved to adjourn. Mr. Currin seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
