REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
June 9, 2009
12:00 p.m.
Present were Chairman Walter Massey, Secretary Walt Titchener and Member Louise Taylor.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Chairman Massey called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes of May 5, 2009 and June 2, 2009. Mr. Titchener moved
to approve. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved without dissent.
New Business:
Ms. Toler reviewed ongoing discussions regarding the budget and reviewed the County
Manager's proposed budget. The Board indicated its concern that the proposed budget did not
provide enough funds to cover the expenses of elections already scheduled during the upcoming
budget year. Ms. Toler also advised the Board regarding her presentation to the Board of
Commissioners regarding the proposed polling place changes.
Ms. Toler showed the Board a copy of a small advertisement which would be running in
both the Sanford Herald and the Fayetteville Observer to ensure that voters would be aware of
one -stop voting and the election on June 23, 2009.
The Board also reviewed the absentee ballots received and a list of voters who had voted
early. A vote will be taken on those ballots at the absentee meeting at 5:00 p.m.
The next meeting of the board will be its absentee meeting at 5:00 p.m. on June 9, 2009.
Ms. Taylor moved to adjourn. Mr. Titchener seconded. The meeting was adjourned at
1:05 p.m.
