CANVASS AND REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

11:00 a.m.
Present were Chairman William Randall and Secretary Walt Titchener and Member Walter
Massey.
Also present was Walt Titchener, III and Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m.
Minutes:
Mr. Titchener moved to approve the minutes of June 3, 2008 at noon, June 3, 2008 at
5:00 p.m., June 10, 2008, June 17, 2008 and June 24, 2008. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved
without dissent.
New Business:
The board reviewed the provisional ballots. Mr. Massey moved to approve the ballots as
recommended by Ms. Toler. Mr. Titchener seconded. Approved without dissent. Mr. Titchener
moved to reject those ballots as recommended by Ms. Toler. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved
without dissent.
The approved ballots were run through the voting machine and the tapes signed by the
Board. The official canvass report was reviewed and signed by the Board.
Ms. Toler provided the Board with a summary of Important Dates to Remember.
The Board discussed the absentee meeting on election day. Mr. Massey moved to move
the meeting to 2:00 p.m. in order to allow the Board adequate time to process all absentee by
mail ballots. Mr. Titchener seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board also discussed dates for a voter registration drive, training in August and poll
worker training dates.
The Board asked Ms .Toler to talk to the media about voting, early voting and the same
day registration process.
The next meeting of the Board will be August 5, 2008 at 12:00 noon.
Mr. Titchener made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Massey seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
