REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
April 1, 2008
12:00 p.m.
Present were Chairman William Randall, Secretary Walt Titchener and Member
Walter Massey.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m.
New Business:
Ms. Toler presented the Board with the surveys completed by the poll workers
following the training.
Ms. Toler advised that the ballots had been tested and the first round of absentee
ballots were mailed.
Mr. Titchener expressed a desire that notices for one -stop voting be placed
wherever possible, including public service announcements on the radio and on
television. Ms. Toler expressed concern about the cost of such notices and indicated that
a number of notices were already being placed in the newspaper, courthouse, office, and
website.
Mr. Titchener also expressed concern that not enough sodas were provided to poll
workers during the training session and that the building was too cramped.
Ms. Toler advised that the State had issued guidelines for multi -partisan teams for
nursing homes although given staffing and time constraints it might not be possible to do
that for the primary. The Board agreed.
The next meeting of the Board will be the absentee meeting on April 15, 2008.
Mr. Massey made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Titchener seconded. The meeting
was adjourned at 12:40 p.m.
