ABSENTEE MEETING MINUTES
May 29, 2007
5:00 p.m.
Present were William Randall, Chairman and Walter Massey, Member. Secretary
Roy Tew was unable to attend
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Minutes:
Mr. Massey moved to approve the minutes of May 8, 2007. Mr. Randall
seconded. Approved without dissent.
New Business:
Ms. Toler advised that she had just received the ballots and tested the equipment.
There were 2 machines that failed during testing and had been replaced with other
machines.
Ms. Toler advised that there were no absentee ballots to be considered but that the
office is ready for one -stop voting to begin.
Ms. Toler showed the board members the letter and resolution from Wake County
stating that we would conduct elections for their voters who live in Angier, contrary to
what the board already decided. After discussion the board members agreed that it was
still their position that each county should conduct their own elections. They advised Ms.
Toler to draft a letter for board signatures for next Tuesday which would also allow Mr.
Tew the opportunity to respond as well.
The next meeting of the Board will be June 5, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
Mr. Massey moved to adjourn. Mr. Randall seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at approximately 5:20 p.m.
