SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
July 17, 2007
12:00 p.m.
Present were Chairman William Randall, Walter Massey, Member and new
member Walt Titchener.
Also present was Kay Blanchard, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, Tom
Woerner from the Harnett County News, Julia Massey and Sara Titchener. Sherre Toler,
Director and other staff members Claudette Williams, Claire Jones and Cynthia Simpson
were also present.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
New Business:
Mr. Randall thanked everyone for coming. Ms. Blanchard administered the Oath
of Office to the Board Members.
Mr. Massey moved to re -appoint Mr. Randall as chair of the Board. Mr.
Titchener seconded. Approved without dissent.
Mr. Massey moved to appoint Mr. Titchener as Board secretary. Mr. Randall
seconded. Approved without dissent. Mr. Titchener designated the Director to continue
taking Board minutes.
The Board discussed whether to continue meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of the
month and agreed to table that issue until the next meeting in order to determine the best
time for all board members.
Mr. Randall asked Ms. Toler to draft a letter of thanks to Mr. Tew for his service
to the Board.
Ms. Toler advised that the Board would need to meet at 3:00 p.m. on August 21 st
for the purpose of appointing poll workers. The next regular meeting is scheduled for
14'h at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Massey moved to move the regular monthly meeting to August
21 st. Mr. Titchener seconded. Approved without dissent.
Mr. Massey moved to adjourn. Mr. Titchener seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
