REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 9, 2007
3:00 p.m.
Present were William Randall, Chairman, Secretary Roy Tew, and Member
Walter Massey. Sherre Toler, Director of Elections, was unable to attend.
Also present was Claudette Williams, Elections Specialist
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
New Business:
Ms. Williams presented the minutes from previous board meetings for board
members to sign. Roy Tew re -submitted his observations/suggestions from the 2007
General Election and ask that they'll be included in the next board meeting minutes.
Ms. Williams advised that the ABC petition in Upper Little River had expired
January 1, 2007 and at this point they still only had 195 of the required signatures of 975.
Mr. Randall stated that was the same number they had at the last board meeting. Ms.
Williams stated that someone from Johnsonville called and inquired about starting a
petition and that Angier and Coats may want one too.
Ms. Williams said that letters were sent to the towns about the municipal elections
for this year. Board members were also given the Municipal Elections Schedule and
Candidate Filing Dates for 2007.
Ms Williams advised that the office had completed the absentee by precinct
report. The provisional count was off by 1-2 voters and we think it was due to the
partially counted ballots.
The next meeting of the Board will be its regular monthly meeting on February
13, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Tew moved to adjourn. Walter Massey seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
