ABSENTEE MEETING MINUTES
April 11, 2006
5:00 P.M.
Present were William Randall, Chairman, Secretary Roy Tew and Walter Massey,
Member.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
Minutes:
Mr. Tew moved to approve the minutes of March 13, 2006. Mr. Massey
seconded. Approved without dissent.
New Business:
Ms. Toler advised that 24 absentee ballots sent to military voters had been
returned undeliverable. Ms. Toler also advised that one voter returned the ballot, Mil-33,
indicating that she no longer lived in Harnett County and wished to cancel her
registration and ballot.
Ms. Toler also advised that one military voter returned the ballot but did not sign
the outside of the envelope. Mr. Tew opened the envelope and pulled out the
certification of signature page. The Board then re -sealed the envelope. Mr. Tew moved
to accept this ballot, Mil-74. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved without dissent.
Ms. Toler presented two other valid absentee ballots, CIV-2 and MIL-74. Mr.
Tew moved to approve. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved without dissent.
The pollbook of absentee voters is approved and incorporated herein by this
reference.
Ms. Toler asked the board to clarify the procedure for observers. After
discussion, the Board agreed that the list would be read aloud to the observers at 10, 2
and 4. The next meeting of the Board will be the poll worker training at 6:00 on April
11, 2006 and an absentee meeting on April 18, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.
Mr. Massey moved to adjourn. Mr. Tew seconded. The meeting was adjourned
at approximately 5:30 p.m.
