REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
January 12, 2004
3:00 p.m.
Present were William Randall, Chairman, Roy Tew, Secretary and Walter
Massey, Member.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 3:20 p.m.
Minutes:
Mr. Tew moved to approve the minutes of September 21, 2004, October 12, 2004,
October 19, 2004 and October 26, 2004. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved without
dissent.
New Business:
Ms. Toler advised that she had attended the State legislative committee meeting
regarding voting equipment issues.
Ms. Toler also advised that she had not received any signatures as of yet from the
Anderson Creek Township ABC petition due by February 21, 2004.
Mr. Tew discussed the need for additional one stop sites. Ms. Toler expressed her
concern that if the requirement for designating absentee ballots by precinct is not
removed by the legislature, there would be an extraordinary number of ballot styles to be
used during one -stop. Ms. Toler advised that had this been done in the November
election, instead of 7 ballot styles, there would have been 46 ballot styles. Ms. Toler
expressed her concern over obtaining enough poll workers to work during that length of
time, providing ballot security and accuracy.
Mr. Tew presented some tentative numbers regarding possible consolidation of
precincts. No action was taken.
The next meeting of the Board will be the regular meeting on February 8, 2005 at
3:00 p.m.
Mr. Massey moved to adjourn. Mr. Tew seconded. The meeting was adjourned
at 3:45 p.m.
