Minutes of Special Meeting December 2, 2021
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners called a Special Meeting on Thursday, December
2, 2021, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Harnett County Resource Center and Library
Building, 455 McKinney Parkway, Lillington, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting is to
discuss certain personnel matters.
Members present: W. Brooks Matthews, Chairman (arrived at 9:08 a.m.)
Lewis W. Weatherspoon Vice Chairman
Mark B. Johnson, Commissioner
Barbara McKoy, Commissioner
Matt Nicol, Commissioner
Staff present: George Wood, Interim County Manager
Dwight Snow, County Attorney
Kimberly Honeycutt, Finance Officer
Melissa Capps, Clerk
Vice Chairman Weatherspoon called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. The purpose of the
special session is to discuss certain personnel matters.
Commissioner McKoy led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided the invocation.
Vice Chairman Weatherspoon moved that the Board go into closed session to discuss certain
personnel matters. This motion is made pursuant to N.C. General Statute Section 143-
318.11(a)(6). Commissioner Nicol seconded the motion that passed unanimously.
Following a motion to come out of Closed Session, Chairman Matthews called the meeting back
into open session.
Vice Chairman Weatherspoon moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:52 p.m. Commissioner Nicol
seconded the motion that passed unanimously.
