Minutes of Special Meeting April 23, 2021
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in emergency session on Friday, April 23,
2021, in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Harnett County Resource Center and Library
Building, 455 McKinney Parkway, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: W. Brooks Matthews, Chairman
Lewis W. Weatherspoon Vice Chairman
Mark B. Johnson, Commissioner
Barbara McKoy, Commissioner
Matt Nicol, Commissioner
Staff present: Christopher Appel, Senior Staff Attorney
Heather Pollard, Human Resources Director
Chairman Matthews called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of the special session
was to interview for the Clerk.
Vice Chairman Weatherspoon moved that the Board go into closed session to discuss certain
personnel matters. This motion is made pursuant to N.C. General Statute Section 143-
318.11(a)(6). Commissioner Nicol seconded the motion that passed unanimously.
Vice Chairman Weatherspoon moved to adjourn the meeting at 4:10 p.m. Commissioner Nicol
seconded the motion that passed unanimously.
