Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
June 15, 2007
The Harnett county board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, June 15,
2007, in the Commissioners Conference Room, County Administration Building, 102
East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Tim McNeill
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Vice Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. and Commissioner Andrews
led the invocation.
Mr. Emory led a discussion on the following items:
- Board of Elections hopes to have in place new electronic poll books for the municipal
elections this fall.
- Equus Heals will cease operation except for weekend events
- Economic Development Commission retreat is scheduled for August 28.
- A proposed resolution of support has been drafted regarding opening mental health
beds at the former Good Hope Hospital site.
- A meeting to discuss a proposed Recycling Committee will be scheduled.
- Lease of old Anderson Creek school cafeteria for after school program
- Proposed zoning of a portion of Stewart’s Creek Township
- Volunteer Agricultural District
- Concerns with accidents of large vehicles on Purfoy Road.
- Update on Atlantic Coast Contractors concerning solid waste account.
There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners special
meeting, June 15, 2007, adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
