HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Special Meeting (Workshop)
March 14, 2003
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, March
14,2003, in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, County Administration Building,
102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina.
. Members present: Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard
Guest: Doug Runyon, Vice President
Harnett County Veterans Council
Vice Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 11 :30 a.m.
Mr. Runyon presented a proposal for the site designated for a Veterans Memorial at
the Governmental Complex. Mr. Runyon received positive comments from the
Board who offered support to promote raising of funds for the proposed project. Mr.
Runyon and the Board hope to make it a community project.
In other business, Neil Emory, County Manager, led a discussion on the items listed
below.
- Ways to save on advertisement of delinquent taxes
- Fort Bragg moving forward with housing plans in Harnett County
. - Sewer project for Western Harnett/Highland schools
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
