Al JP Re: Soil/site evaluation for subsurface waste disposal, proposed Fellowship Hall addition, Union United Methodist Church, 2212 Nursery Road, Harnett County, North Carolina Dear Mr. Goetz, A soil/site evaluation has been conducted on a portion of the aforementioned property at your request. The purpose of the investigation was to determine if soils were acceptable for a subsurface waste disposal system to serve a proposed fellowship hall building (domestic wastewater only to serve the existing congregation; 250 people e 2 gallons per person; includes a kitchen, no daycare). All ratings and determinations were made in accordance with "Laws and Rules for Sanitary Sewage Collection, Treatment, and Disposal, 15A NCAC 18A. 1900". At least two sites were located on the tract containing soils that have provisionally suitable properties exceeding 40 inches. Each site essentially lies on linear slope (1 - 6%) landscape, Soil borings conducted in most of this area consisted of 20 or more inches of sandy loam underlain by light sandy loam or light sandy clay loam extending to 40 or more inches. Soil wetness and/or parent material (greater than 50%) was typically observed greater than 40 inches below the soil surface. All other soil characteristics were; either suitable or provisionally suitable to at least 40 inches. Based on soil borings and site conditions, the site would be designated provisionally suitable for a shallow conventional subsurface waste disposal system (see attached design; inay require the use of a pump). The site contains enough provisionally suitable soil area, as required, to allow for subsurface repairs for all existing systems. A map showing the approximate location of the site accompanies this report. [Note: No grading, rutting or soil disturbance can occur in this area prior to obtaining a permit from the Harnett County Health Department. Any grading `vithoat a permit can alter the findings of this report.] 50I1-18ITE EVALUATION v SOIL PHY, :{:At ANALYSIS a LAND USEtSUBD(VISION PLANNING 4 WETLANDS GROUNDV%ATER 0HAH4 GE4VDUiD:P:3 a SL 1FACPSUBSURFACE WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEMS, EVALUATION & DESIGN This only reprcscnts my- proflvs,.,,Ional c -pinion a licciised soil scientist.
