1990/09/17 RESOLUTION EXPANDING RATED INSURANCE DISTRICTSSTATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
COUNTY OF HARNETT
RESOLUTION EXPANDING RATED
INSURANCE DISTRICTS
THAT WHEREAS, the laws of the State of North Carolina
authorize the establishment of rated insurance districts within
geographical areas of the state within which certain
determinations are made which could or might affect the cost of
obtaining and maintaining fire insurance; and
WHEREAS, such rated insurance districts have heretofore
extended for a maximum of four miles from the fire headquarters
supplying fire protection services to such districts; and
WHEREAS, by virtue of a change in the laws of this state the
board of commissioners in each county in the State of North
Carolina is authorized to expand the rated insurance districts
within the various and respective counties of the state up to a
maximum of five (5) road miles from the fire headquarters from
which fire protection services are provided; and
WHEREAS, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners has given
notice of and conducted a public hearing with regard to whether
or not the authority granted to the various boards of county
commissioners as herein set forth should be exercised by the
Harnett County Board of Commissioners in order to make such
expansions as by law provided; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the County of Harnett
has determined that protection of the health, safety and welfare
of the citizens of Harnett County would be enhanced and promoted
by the expansion of said districts; and
WHEREAS, maps which include the areas which might be
incorporated into such rated insurance districts have been
prepared and are made a part of this resolution by reference:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners
of the County of Harnett that the rated fire insurance districts
lying within the County of Harnett shall be and they are hereby
expanded to include areas up to a maximum of five (5) road miles
from the fire headquarters serving said districts pursuant to the
authority granted by the laws of the State of North Carolina, and
that said rated insurance districts from and after the adoption

are attached hereto as Exhibits A through L, and which are
incorporated herein by reference.
