06291954326 The Board of County Commissioners met in ancadjourned session on Tuesday, June 29th., at 7;00 A. M. with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk to Board. Ida P. Hinnant was unanimously appointed Negro Home Agent for year beginning July lst. 1954. L. K Boston, was unanimously appointed Negro Farm Agent fo year, beginning July lst. 1954. MiasMargaret Ray was unanimously a term of one year, beginning July a term of one appointed Asst. Home lst. 1954. Miss Lela B. Huntley was unanimously appointed term of one year beginning July lst. 1954. T. D. OtQuinn was unanimously appointed Asst. County Farm Agent for a term of one year, beginning,July 1st. 1954. D. P. Ray was unanimously appointed Tax Collector for Harnett County for a term of one year, beginning July 1St. 1954, and ending June 30th. 1955, and -in Home a term of one Demonstration' Agent for ]bemonstration Agent for a connection therewith the said D. P. Ray shall furnish surety bond in the amount of e35,000.00, for the faithful performance of his duties during the said term. Upon motion duly made and seconded the following resolutinn'.was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED That the First Citizens Bank and Trust Company of Dunn,,North. Carolina, be and the same is hereby designated as the official depository of the County of Harnett for all funds of said County for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1954, including such funds as may be collected by the Harnett County Tax Collect- or, and the said First Citizens Bank and Trust Company shall give bong as by law re- quired to secure all funds of the County of Harnett which may b e deposited in said bank, - said bond -at all times to be in a principal amount aggregating more than the total deposits of the County of Harnett on any given date, provided, however, that in -lieu of said bond, said depository may place in trust with the Wachovia Bank & Trust Company of Raleigh,. N. C. or the Central Hanover Bank & Trust Company' of New York City, acceptable securities spproved by the County Accountant (Auditor} for -the purpose of securing such deposits, the - aggregate amount'of such securities to be in a sum not less than the bond required by law. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Harnett County Tax Collector shall daily deposit in the First Citizens Bank & Trust Company of Dunn, North Carolina, to the credit of Harnett County, all funds collected by him or delivered to -him for said County, and said depository shall issue daily to such tax collector a receipt for such deposit or deposits, and the Tax Collector shall thereupon deliver said receipt or receipts to the Harnett CountyAuditor. L. B. McLean was unanimously appointed Veteran Service officer County for a term of one year, beginning July lst. 1954. The Chairman called for nominations for the office of County Farm Agent. No person was nominated for this position. Com. Lasater moved, seconded by Com. Byrd, that Harnett County buy a Flag, Pole and a Flag for the Courthouse Square. Motion carried. for Harnett Com.- Ingram moved, seconded by at 7 :00 P. M. Juneā€¢30th. 1954. Com.
