Board of Commissioners having recessed on June 15, 1955 to reconvene in the
Commissioners' meeting room at 7:00 P.M. on June 20, 1955 met at said time and
place with the following members present: Chairman L. A. fart and Commissioners
R. L. Pate, R. Glenn Johnson, J. E. Womble and B.P. Ingram. The County Accountant
and County Attorney were also present. The following business was transacted:
Upon motion of Commissioner Pate, seconded by Commissioner Ingram, the Board
by unanimous vote appointed Kyle Harrington Clerk of Harnett County Recorder's
Court at a salary of 4300.00 per month effective July 1, 1955.
Upon motion of Commissioner Womble, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, the
Board ordered by unanimousvote that the Clerk of Recorder s Court of Harnett County
give a bond in the form prescribed for the Clerk of Superior Court of Harnett County
and in the sum of 45000 to secure the faithful performance of the duties of the
Office of Clerk of Recorder's Court.
Upon motionof Commissioner Pate, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, the Board
voted unanimously to authorize the Clerk of Harnett County Recorder's Court to
employ a deputy clerk of such Court at a salary not in excess of 4175 per month.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, Bernice Temple was appointed as a rural
policeman to begin his duties as such on July 1, 1955 and titer first moving into
western Harnett County and taking the oath and giving the bond required by law.
His salary was fixed at 4250 per month with a travel allowance of 4125 per month.
There being no further business, the Board recessed to reconvene in the
commissioners' meeting room at 7:00 P.M. Cn Friday, June 24, 1955.
