The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on- Thursday at 7:30
P. M.- with `all nE mbers present except Chairman L. A. Tart who Is ill.
Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board.
Tommy Sansom, Assistant Director of Civil Defense Agency with Lillian
Benson Smith, Secretary,- appeared and requested further study be made of
the budget for Civil Defense program for Harnett County,
The Board studied the budgets of the various county departments.
The Board ordered the County Offices closed on Wednesday, July 4th.
The Board recessed to reconvene on Wesnesday June 27th. at 2 :00
P. M.

The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Thursday, June
27th. at 7 :30 P. M.. with all members present except Chairman L. A.
Tart, who is till. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and the
Clerk to the Board.
The Board studied the Budgets of the various Department in the County
fb r the purpose of naming the tax rate.
Motion by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Warren, that
the Tax Collector accept check in the amount of $2404.04, as payment for
1956 and 1957 taxes for the Jessie Tart heirs and that they be given until
October 1st. 1962 in which time 1958, 1959 and 1960 taxes shall be paid,
or execution shall issue on judgment already obtained.
Motion carried.
The Board adjourned
