06041962June 4th. 1962 The Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday June 4th. at 10:00 A. M., with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board. The Following Reports Were Approved and Placed on File: Inez Harrington L. B. McLean D. P. Ray Kyle Harrington Elizabeth Matthews B. H. Sellers Ken Black W. H. Stewart Register of Deeds Veterans Service Officer Tax Collector Clerk Recorders Court Clerk Superior Court County Electrical Inspector Dog Warden Sheriff Mrs. Arthur Pope, Mrs. N. M. Johnson and Mrs. I. F. Hicks appeared before the Board and asked for a yearly allocation of money for the purpose of paying for the upkeep of Chioora Burial Ground. The request was temporally tabled pending other budgets to be submitted. Con tinuation Certificate for Bond # 5-4737183 with Altoe Patterson Prinoipal was approved and filed and certificate for Lola O'Quinn was also • approved and filed Motion by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Cameron that D. P. Ray, Jr. and Thomas Allen be reappointed to their respective positions for one (1) year beginning July 1st. 1962. Motion carried. Motion by Commissioner Byrd and seconded by Commissioner Warren that Gerald Myrick , who was nominated in the May 1962 Primary as Constable for Lillington Township, be appointed as of this date to serve until the election in November, 1962, upon his filing the proper bond and be sworn in. Motion carried. Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, that Commissioner W. A. Warren be and he is herbby appointed to the Welfare Board as the Commissioners appointee to serve a term of 3 years beginning July lst. 1962. Motion carr£dd.
