06301961June 30th. 1961 The Board of Commissioners met in a call meeting on Friday; June 30th. at 7 :00 P. M. with all members present. Also present were the Auditor and the Clark to the - Board. Commissioner Barefoot moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren that the motion made and carried at the meeting of the Board on 8'uesday, June 27th., in regard to the tax rate of $1.59 and the sum of $ 27,500.00 which was taken from the general fund to be used for the school and the public assistance budget be recended. Motion carried _Commissioner Barefoot moved, seconded by Commissioner Cam von, that' the tax rate for the fiscal year 1961 -62 be set at $1.69 Motion carried. After these motions concerning the tax rate were made and carried L. A. Tart, Chairman, asked that the minutes show that he did not recommend the same and it was agreed by the Board that his request be granted. Commissioner Byrd moed, seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, that the County Agents Budget be at 517,000.00 for the fiscal year beginning July 1St. 1961. Motion-carried. The Board-of-Commissioners meeting with the Board of Welfare in a joint meeting voted unanimously to dispense frith the surplus foot distribution in Harnett County for a period of three months beginning August 1st. 1961.
