05221961480 MAY 22, 1961 The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Monday, May 22nd., at 10:00 A. M. with all members present. Also present were the County Attorney, the Auditor and the Clerk to the Board. The Board of Education with Superintendent G. T. Profitt appeared before the Board and presented the proposed school budget for year 1961 -62. The Following Road Petition Was Presented: (1) To add to State Highway System that road in Lillington Township, known as the American Legion Road, a distance of 3/10 mile. (Petition given to Neill MeK. Ross)for presentation) Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commission Cameron, that Carson - Gregory. Represenhtive, be advised to enact legislation to set up the salary of the County Attorney in the Commissioners Budget at $2880,00 annually. Motion carried. Herbert Carson, Auditor, presented the budgets of the county officers and the Commissioners made a study of each. The Board requested that a resolution be given to Carson Gregory, Represenhatv9 requesting an extension of time on revaluation of property in Harnett County for two years. The Board adjourned.
