07261960389 July 22, 1960 The Board of Commissioners met in a call session on Friday, July 22nd at 11:00 A. M. with all members present except Comm. Joe Currin, also present were the Auditor, the County Attorney and the Clerk to theBoard. The purpose of this meeting was for the imspection of the Court House Additions and improvements with the various contractors and the architects for any discrepancies according to the contracts before making the final settlements. The meeting closed. Such rates of tax are based on an estimated total assessed valuation of property for purposes of taxation as follows: County Wide Valuation -$ 59,500.00, Special School District Valuation - $ 17,000,000.00, and Buies Creek Rural Fire Department District - $1,700,000.00, and an estimated rate of collections of ninety per cent (90 %). Section 4. There is hereby levied a poll tax of $2.00 on all male persons in the county between the ages of 21 and 50, unless exempt as provided by law, for the purpose of raising the revenue from Current Year's Poll Tax, as set forth in the foregoing estimates of revenue, and in order to finance the foregoing appro- priations. In Townships with the Special Road Fund levy, Poll Tax will be two dollars ($2.00) plus three times the special rates. Section 5. Copies of this resolution shall be furnished to the county treasurer and county accountant, to be kept on file by them for their direction in the disbursement of funds.
