APRIL 29th. 1963
The Board of Commissioners met on Monday, April 29th. at 10:00 A. M. with
all members present. Also present were the County Attorney and the Clerk to the.
Board.
Bids were received for the site improvement on the courthhouse square.
Commissioner Barefoot moved, seconded by Commissioner Byrd that the Cumberland
Paving Company, contractors of Fayetteville, N. C.,r_be and they are hereby award-
ed the contract at a cost of $ 19,232.19.
Motion carried
Commissioner Byrd moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren, that the Board
accept the recommendations of the Board of Election and lease the Barbecue
Community Building for a term of 10 years for the purpose of holding elections,
listing taxes and such governmental functions as may arise from time to time
at an agreed amount of $ 50.00 per year payable in advance, uponthe execution of
a lease agreement and the chairman is hereby authorized to execute an instrument
on the part of the county to effect the lien of said property.

Commissioner Cameron moved, seconded by Commissioner Barefoot, that the
amount not in access of $1000002p:eracre of tobacco allotment be used as
a factor in determining the valuation per farm for farm property,
Commissioner Barefoot moved, seconded by Commissioner Warren, that the
following resolution be and it is unanimously adopted.
Whereas it appears that the administrative budget of the Welfare Department
will be under spent by some $ 25,000.00, and the General Assistance budget will
be over spent in a sum of approximately $ 11,000.00.
Be it resolved that the General Assistance Budget be increased by $ 10,600.00.
