06221970 (2)'1L'O Spee &l " ktne - -22, 1970_ JOINT MEETING HARNETT COUNTY PLANNING BOARD PURPOSE OF MEETING APPOINTMENT: TAX COLLECTOR ADJOURNMENT The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session June 22, 1970 at the Johnson House, Lillington, North Carolina. Presezfit were Messrs.: M. H. "Jack" Brock, Chairman; D. P. Ray, Jr., Vice Chairman; C. E. McLamb, member, W. J. Cotton, Jr., member and Gilbert Brown, member. Also present, Gerald Arnold, County Attorney. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the creating of a Harnett County Housing Authority. The meeting was called at the request of trill Harnett County Planning Board and Mr. Casey Fowler, Chairman of the Planning Board presided. All members of the Board were present, except Mr. Eugene Smith. The following persons made presentations concerning housing authori- ties: Mr. Ralph H. Lassen of the Department of Local Affaris; Mr. Bill Bostic representative of Sheetz and Bradfield, Architects and Mr. A. Pr Winfrey, Jr., Executive Director of the Eastern Carolina Regional Housing Authority. ACTION: No action was taken. The Board will consider the matter at the regular meeting in July. After the meeting with the Planning Board, the Board was called into special session to consider the following matters: 1. Appointment: Tax Collector ACTION: Upon a motion by Commissioner Cotton, seconded by Commissioner McLamb, Mr. Earl Jones was reappointed Tax Collector for the ensuing year. Motion carried unanimously. 2. Appointment: Auditor for county accounts and records for FY -69 -70 ACTION: Commissioner Cotton moved seconded by Commissioner McLamb, that John E. Ingraham & Associatesippointed and commissioned to audit the accounts and records of the county at a fee not to exceed $1300, with the exception of the audit of the Mental Health Authority.
