MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF APRIL 12, 1972.
The Board of County Commissioners met in an official meeting on April 12, 1972, Court-
house, Lillington, N. C., with all members present. Also, H. D. Carson, Jr., Clerk
to the Board, Tax Collector, Kyle Harrington, Bill Allen from Allen Appraisal Company,
and the Tax Supervisor.
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
ORDER OF BUSINESS
RESOLUTION FOR BUDGET
AMENDMENT The following resolution was presented for the pleasure of the
Board:
WHEREAS, it appears that the several budgets of the General
County Fund will be over - expended during the budget year 1971 -72,
and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to over -spend these budgets in the
due process of operation of the several department;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the Board of County Commissioners that
the County Auditor is hereby authorized to pay any and all nec-
essary expenses of the Courthouse Account, Donations and Appropriations,
and Revaluation Program in the operation of their office.
Commissioner McLamb moved to adopt the foregoing resolution, Comm-
issioner Cotton seconded the move and it carried.
ADJUSTMENT IN SALARIES
OF EXT DEPT. Chairman Brock presented a proposal requesting the adjustment of
State and County participation in the salaries for the workers of
the County Ext. Department. The proposal was a reallocation of
state and county funds which represented no increase in over all
amount. Therefore, Commissioner Cotton moved to approve the re-
quest, Commissioner McLamb seconded the move and it carried.
TAX DISCOUNTS The matter of tax discounts was brought to the attention of the
Board. After discussing the matter at length, Commissioner Cotton
moved to allow no discounts on the payment of taxes for the year
1972. Commissioner Brown seconded the motion and it carried.
NEW PROPERTY VALUES
Much discussion was held on the new property values. Action was
tabled for a period of time. By common consent of the Board,
a meeting was scheduled for April 18, 1972, Courthouse, Lillington,
7:30 p.m.
ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
