Minutes of Meeting with Local Legislators
April 23, 2001
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Monday, April
23, 2001, in the County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North
Carolina. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss current legislative issues with the
• County's legislators.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Walt Titchener
Tim McNeill
Legislators present: Senator Oscar Harris
Representative Leslie Cox
Representative Don Davis
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Jerry Hartgrove, Economic Development Director
Chairman Byrd called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. and called on County Manager
Neil Emory.
Mr. Emory led a discussion of the current issues affecting Harnett County listed below:

- Open Meetings Law
- Medicaid
Chairman Byrd recessed the meeting at 10:00 a.m.
Chairman Byrd reconvened the meeting at 10:15 a.m. and called on Neil Emory, County
Manager.
Mr. Emory reviewed and discussed goals the Board developed at the end of its retreat
January 27-28, 2001.
There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners special
meeting, April 23, 2001 duly adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
