Box 65 Lillington, NC 27546 REF: Foundation Inspection Sammy Romero, Res. 590 Cherokee Lane Lillington, NC Dear Sir/Madam: I made an onsite visit to the above residential building site on Jan. 22, 2009. The purpose of the visit was to examine the reported foundation deficiencies shown on a punch list from Harnett Co. Inspections. After a thorough examination. I suggested to the contractor, Manny Torres, that the lower portion of the 4" curtain wall be increased to eight inches up to a height that would make the balance of the curtain wall no higher than 72 inches. I returned to the site on Jan. 23 and the above had been completed. I also examined the modified piers and have no problem with them. They were all 16x16 with mortared joints, filled with mortar and set on poured concrete footings. After the contractors modifications to the piers they will be acceptable for a height in excess of 80 inches for the independent piers and 72 inches for the curtain wall piers. The foundation wall now meets or exceeds the requirements set forth in the N.C. Residential Building Code 2006 Edition.
