Our representative was on site on this date to perform foundation bearing capacity evaluation for the soil
subgrade. On Tuesday, April 15, our representative had spoken with David Ward as well as Walt Goudy
of Superior Walls who informed Building and Earth that soil beating capacity measurements were needed
in order to determine the thickness of the crushed aggregate prior to wall erection.
Perimeter walls as designed measured 166 feet, therefore four locations were selected - one at each main
building comer - for testing. The soils encountered during our testing consisted of sands with little clay
and partially weathered quartz.
Based on field data collected on this date, the in-situ soils appear suitable for a design bearing capacity of
2,000 p.s.f. Please refer to the attached "Hand Auger and Penetrometer Record" for actual blow count
results and descriptions of soils encountered.
