WHEREAS, Senator Elizabeth Dole has honorably served the citizens tax: 910 -814 -2662
of Harnett County, North Carolina and our nation as a member of the U.S. Senate; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure Senator Dole has consistently displayed her
commitment to her constituents and to our nation's military through her actions to assist
Harnett County and the Fort Bragg Community; and
WHEREAS, her most recent efforts have brought about the transfer of one
hundred and fifty acres of federal land to our county to be used as sites for the
development of educational facilities; and
WHEREAS, this land will provide sites upon which Harnett County may develop
and construct schools that will serve the children of those individuals in military service
who chose to make our county their home.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS does hereby recognize and commend Senator Dole for her long and
faithful service to our nation. In addition the Board does hereby express its heartfelt
thanks and appreciation to the Senator for her leadership in acquiring this much needed
asset for our community and for our military.
